The Functional Safety Expert Certificate states knowledge and expertise in Safety Instrumented Systems and is a part of the TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program which offers engineers or persons who have been working in the field of functional safety for many years, the opportunity to achieve a formal proof of their competences and knowledge.
Before TÜV Rheinland issues the certificate, the applicant must demonstrate competence and experience in Functional Safety. Work performed by the applicant is forwarded to TÜV Rheinland who reviews the documentation and assesses the high-quality knowledge, the know-how, and the applicant’s specific expertise in the field of functional safety.
Only an accepted FS Expert (TÜV Rheinland) can become an acknowledged trainer for trainings that are offered under the roof of the TÜV Rheinland Functional Safety Program and can perform these trainings in his specialization.
Currently there are more than 100 FS Experts (TÜV Rheinland) worldwide who have been approved of by TÜV Rheinland.
GFS is also member of the international IEC 61511 committee. This committee develops and updates the IEC 61511 standard, Safety Instrumented Systems for the industry sector.
